Delete recent files in wmp
This tip requires a change to the Windows Registry. Please see the post "Backup Your Registry" (Please Read Disclaimer Before Use) if you are new to the Windows Registry.
Windows Media Player (WMP) is a built-in application that allows you to play multimedia files. Like many other applications, WMP remembers the most recently played files and displays them in the Recent File List under the File menu. This feature is useful if you regularly play certain files, but you may want to clear the list if you share the computer and a user account or create archives and CDs.
There are two ways you can clear the list:
Change A Cmos Battery
this is only for people who have opened their computer case and have worked inside the computer other people please dont try to do this as it is dangerous and if done wrong can endanger lifes.
Points to keep in mind before you open the case:
* Make sure the power is off
* There are sharp edges and all so be carefull
* Do not remove unnecessary plugs and all-they will have big effect on the computer
* Do not damage anything inside the case
When is it time to change your cmos battery:
* 1your clock starts running slowly
* when you boot (start) your computer it has a problem finding your hardware (no hard drive, no cd rom)
To change the battery you need the following tools:-
* a X-point screwdriver
* an anti-static strap
* a new battery (without it what are you changing)
** unplug all the cables from the back of the computer as you remove them make a note where they came from. (always rember where the plugs goes back)
Windows 7 Installation Guide
Introduction::
After many requests for this information, I have drafted this general guide to help.
Take note: Regardless of flavor of Windows 7 or if it is 32/64-bit that you will be installing, the steps listed here are the same. The only difference would be which product key is entered to determine which flavor of 7 is installed.
Important Information
This guide assumes a "clean" installation and not an "upgrade" from a previous OS. Ensure that you backup all of your important files (documents, music, etc) to CD/DVD/another hard drive before following these steps.
If you are using Hard Disks in a ACPI or RAID setup, you will first need to download the latest Windows 7 compatible (32-bit or 64-bit) for your particular hardware before installing clean. Check with your chipset/hard drive controllers manufactures web site for the latest drivers/information before starting.

Install Windows xp....(part 2)
The majority of this setup phase requires no user intervention. The screens contain a description of Windows XP features. I can only assume they were created in an attempt to kill the time while XP installs and provide a general time to completion reference. I've placed a red border around those screens that require user input. The others are here simply because some TEG visitors have asked me to make them available.
An Exciting New Look
Install Windows Xp.....(PART-1)
Installing Windows XP can take up to one hour. To make the process more manageable, it has been broken up into several sections. When you are ready, install Windows XP.

This is an interesting one!!!
This is for those who watch movies on their computer's dvd rom drive!!!
There is a software called dvd idle pro which can really increase the life of your dvd drive. By using the Smart Read-ahead Cache,
DVDIdle saves DVD data which will be played soon onto the hard disk cache or RAM cache, and
then feeds it to DVD player.
This allows the DVD drive to rest.
For example:
a 6X-speed DVD drive will only work for 15 minutes when you are watching a 90 minutes DVD
movie.
here is the link: http://www.dvdidle.com/download/DVDIdlePro59.exe

Recently when I tried to copy some files to my mmc using card reader it showed me some error saying the disk is write-protected. Remove the write protection or use another disk.
It was working fine before. I have used this card many times before but it never gave any error and suddenly it started showing this error. After going through some forums I came to know that it happens because of write protection notch but there was no such notch or switch on my card.I kept on searching on more forums and after some time I found one solution to this problem. Follow the steps given below if you are also facing the same problem.
